Behind the website

Here we want to tell you a little about what you can find behind the website of Kennel K9Madness.

There are 2 people behind all this, Toni and Linn.
It all started in 2003 when we wanted to get a little addition to our two American Staffordshire Bullterrier dogs, Phoebe and Zorg.
The little addition was supposed to be the only addition, and little did we know about the future.

Chinese Crested was the breed we fell for, and in March 2004 little Narabi where born.
The most sweetest little naked girl moved in with us 2 months later and our lives changed after that.
The Chinese Crested as a breed really facinated us.
Such a big variation within the same breed, their personality and in total this little prefect k9 companion.

Later that same year we came across a rare dog breed from the Canary Island, Perro de Presa Canario.
This was a dog breed that got our attention and we wanted to learn more about it.
A mysterious breed, with much tradition and history.

After talking to people and surfing the internett we came across Firo de Irema Curtó.
We booked a flight and suddenly we where at Tenerife, Canary Island.
Firo was that dog we just had to see and we did not get disapointed. He was stunning!

He moved to Norway 2 months later and in the end... what a scoop!
Excellent temperament. Good guard and defence, wonderfull within the family and such a happy guy.
He has really proven himself to be a true Perro de Presa Canario.

Well, that was short about the beginning of the long way to go.
Since 2004 much have happend. Many trips to Canary Island has been taken and
several new familymember have moved in and we have got ourself a really nice gang.
Small and big in a nice blending of qualities we appriciate.

Our breeding stock is carefully selected and we are working to preserve the function and health of the Presa Canario.
All our dogs have bloodlines that connect them to the Canary Island and to the Perro Ganado Majorero, livestock guardian
from Fuerteventura. We hope that we can contribute to this traditional breed and we will continuously strive for improved quality.
Health is very important to us in both Presa Canario and Chinese Crested, and we health test all our dogs before breeding.

It is not only important to test the dogs that are breed, but also their offspring.
That is why we encourage all our puppy buyers to check the health of their dogs with at least recommended tests.
We truly hope that everyone will do what they possible can to contribute to keeping the breeds healty and
that we can also enjoy the next generation of our K9 companions.

All the best,

Toni and Linn
